In the spring of 2014, a small group of fans of the noble sport of the “bike” decided to create the UCSD Cycling Club (it was formalized on April 22, 2014).
The club was born to offer all the fans the opportunity to practice their favorite sport in addition to various activities, in games and social context without forgetting the competitive part.
In these few years, the UCSD Cycling Club has evolved and matured, currently comparing with a total of 71 members, who participate and enjoy the departures organized by the Club. They collaborate in the organization of sporting events such as the Championship of Asturias of Cronoescalada 2017, or the organization of the “Fair of the bike” that is celebrated every year; as well as exchanges with other clubs of Asturias and the rest of Spain.
We also have the section “not everything is bike” where there are activities of all kinds, gastronomic – fun –festive, and collaborations with other clubs of different disciplines.
The UCSD Cycling Club takes the flag in all the races and events in which he participates in the town of San Diego, its council and its people. The only thing asked of the partners is companionship, sportsmanship and in the case of competitors: effort. Encouragement and support are assured by every member of the Club.
All the effort made until now has been richly rewarded by watching over the roads and mountains that accompanied the jersey that identifies us. The maxim of what can I do for the Club? It is the DNA of people who work selflessly to make us bigger; socially and sport entirely speaking.
We all have some dream, and ours is to create a cycling School in San Diego for the most “little ones.”
The future is no longer ours. We want to do everything possible to ensure that young promises have a place to grow as sportsmen and as people.
The UCSD Cycling Club shows its enormous satisfaction for the development of the Tour cyclist Andalucía and announces that they will participate for the second consecutive year in the Tour cyclist Andalucía MTB. The UCSD Cycling Club San Diego is a non-profit sports organization whose first objective is the promotion of Federated and recreational sports, mainly in the university arena.
The UCSD Cycling Club is made up of members of the university community of the UPV. However, it also accommodates external members, albeit with certain limitations.
The UCSD Cycling Club has signed an annual collaboration agreement with the UPV, through which members of the club can access facilities, materials of restricted use. As long as the members of the Club are in turn Partner sports of the UPV, except for free installments (track of athletics, velodrome) that will not be necessary, if you are UPV. In the case of external members, for the use of these facilities it is needed that they register as a sports partner, applying a reduced fee on the basis of the signed agreement.
